This afternoon I was washing the dishes and from the kitchen window I could see the garden we all labored so hard to create this weekend. Birds were visiting. I didn't see any birds going after the plants, I think they were looking for seeds and bugs. I'm so excited now that I can look out and see actual veggies growing!
Also from the kitchen window I could see the hanging baskets Bob hung up for me and the little hummingbird feeder he hung from one of the baskets. I hope they visit it a lot. He also hung up 2 normal sized hummingbird feeders in the backyard. If you have to wash dishes, at least you have a good view while you're washing them. I love looking out at the backyard and watching the animals. Especially this time of year with all the flowers and trees in bloom. Now, with our garden it's going to be fun to look out the window and see the progress of our veggies.
I spent a lot of time this afternoon planting dusty miller and begonias in containers. Two containers are out near the path on the way to the gazebo and the rest are on the deck. My next project will be to plant some flower seeds in the other empty pots I have. I found some lavender seeds, so, I will plant those and put them near my other herbs.
I planted some marigolds around the outer edges of the garden.

I'm tired--the good tired, though.
