A pretty day

My first May post. It's a beautiful day today. Thank goodness. I've been waiting for some nice weather. We had some nice weather, then it got cold again, and now it is nice again. I hope the warm weather is here to stay this time.

Garden

Work has begun on our garden. Bob and Keith have been tilling it today. Keith put down lime and he says we can plant seeds tomorrow. We went over the list of veggies we plan to plant. It's going to be a lot bigger than I thought--which is great--I'm really excited about this.

Fall trip

I started some preliminary research on a weekend trip for the fall. We're going to Hershey, PA to do a Hershey factory tour. We'll also be going to QVC for a studio tour. And, we will head back to Longwood Gardens on the same trip. I'm hoping we will see some fall color during the trip since we will be there mid-October.

Another 5k walk

Bob and I are set to do another 5k walk. This time we are going to LaPlata, MD--about 45 minutes away. That walk will be May 18th. I'm looking forward to that.

Back Yard

Saturday, May 3rd.

Bob put up a new cover and screen for our gazebo. The other one was damaged during the winter when a huge branch fell on it. Slowly we're getting the backyard back into spring/summer enjoyment condition. If he has time, Bob will clean out the fish pond and bird bath. I'd like to get some fish this year. I love to watch the fish. We need to get a new bird feeder and pole--one of ours broke. I went out before 6 this morning and filled the bird feeders and put out corn. I filled up the suet feeder. I love going out first thing in the morning. You can hear the birds chirping--they must be gathering in preparation of breakfast. I woke up because heard them chirping. I could wake up to that "alarm clock" every day. It's so pleasant.
