FAMILY TRIP -- JULY 2010

Just recently returned from another trip. This time we went to see family--or at least some of them. Too bad they aren't all in one spot! We are all spread out so far it's hard to see everyone on one trip. We took our annual trip to the Soo to see my parents. On the way we stopped to see Therese and Kevin and family and Jeff and Stephanie and family. We also took a side trip to Jamestown, NY to see the Lucy-Desi museum. Jamestown is Lucille Ball's hometown and I have been wanting to see the museum for years. Was very nice. We weren't allowed to take photos--so, I bought postcards. I especially liked seeing the sets recreated--of the Ricardos living room, kitchen, bedroom and the Hollywood living room. They also have set of Lucy's Vitameatavegamin (sp) commercial where visitors can pretend they are doing the commercial and you are on TV. First I went on TV and did the commercial then, Bob did the commercial. Was fun!

We LOVED the Jamestown area--very nice. It's a beautiful part of NY--rolling hills and mountains.

Therese and I did some antiquing near their house--that was fantastic--bought some terrific things there!

Enjoyed our travels through Michigan and had a wonderful visit with Mom and Dad and Roger. This time we took a day and went to Mackinac Island. Hadn't been there for years. I never get tired of going there--and absolutely LOVE the clop, clop, clop of the horses hooves. Love the feeling of going back in time and escaping our rushed world of today.

After leaving Mom and Dad's, we stopped off at Jeff and Stephanie's lake house and spent a wonderful weekend there. Always look forward to our visit to their place. Stephanie, Therese, Allie and I (and Winston) went out to the Amish cheese market and after leaving there, we went to a small flea market. Then to Anderson and Girls, a country store with a small petting zoo. That was fun! I love doing things like that--driving through the countryside to flea markets, farmers' markets, country stores and all that. One of my favorite things to do.

Enjoyed the drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania and Western Maryland before heading home.
