Ok, here it is, June. June the 13th already.
Bob and I went to the mall today. It was refreshing to be there; I hadn't been there for a long, long time. Had fun. We both bought some new clothes for work. We saw Linda and Greg there. Linda was trying to find a dress to wear to dinner.
Our temps lately have finally made it to what I call normal, wonderful hot summer temps. It's not really scorching hot--like in the 90's and 100's--but mid to upper 80's. I am looking forward to the scorching hot temps--the hotter, the better for me. Too bad I spend most of my time inside in the summer. I love to be out in the heat, but most of my projects and things I like to do have to be done indoors. I can take a computer outside, though. I need to get organized and take my writing projects outside.
I also need to get myself to the beach more over the summer. I always say I'm going to go to the beach/pool on base, but end up not going because I get so wrapped up trying to keep up with housework and working on the things I enjoy like sewing, that I miss a lot of chances to hit the beach and the pool. I have promised myself that this summer I need to make more time for the beach and the pool.
Our veggie garden and flowers are doing just fine. At first I was worried because I spent hours planting seeds, then we got tons and tons of rain. I was worried it was so much rain it would wash the seeds away. But now, I am seeing veggies and herbs coming up all over and I'm so excited to know that I am growing stuff from seeds. Sarah and Keith brought jalapeno and bell peppers over last weekend and we planted those.
Our only problem seems to be the deer keep getting into the garden at night and are having a feast. I'm getting really worried we won't get any veggies because they will be eating it before we get a chance to pick it.
We have a fence--I need to get Bob out there to put the fence up. We have a fence behind Manland. I'm not sure where it came from, or how it got there--but it's there now. It's perfect to put around a garden. The hard part is getting Bob to put it up.
We recently celebrated our 28th anniversary. The years sure have gone by fast.
I guess that's all I can think of for this first June post.
