June 14, 2008

Yesterday I went to Target and bought some new weights and a stability ball or exercise ball or whatever you call it. I had one before but when Charly, Shawn's cat, came to visit, he popped it with his claws. The other day I was chatting with Suzanne, Kathy and Bob--Suzanne's Bob. Suzanne and Bob said the trainer at their gym told them the 2 best abs exercises are to do crunches while leaning on the ball and to do planks. Sarah told me this a while ago, too--so finally I decided to get another ball. Bob--my Bob--inflated it for me--and I started using it right away. They all are right--I could really feel it in my abs.

I've always been an exerciser but for the past several years I feel like I have been stalled at the same weight. I need to lose more to get to the healthy weight for my height--and I work hard at it, but nothing seems to work. I've been doing a better job lately of eating a little less and working out at a greater intensity, and I have noticed just the slightest difference.

I'm hoping that by the end of the summer when they have swim suits on the clearance rack I will be able to buy one or two in a smaller size.

Maybe with the help of my new ball I will get there.

Overall, my health is good. I try to do all the right things. Luckily, I like enough of the good foods and I love to exercise. I drink a lot of green tea.

Funny thing about green tea--I started drinking it because of all the antioxidants--but it doesn't work at all--I'm still a klutz.
