From August 21-28 me, Bob, Sarah and Keith took what I call a circle trip. We left Maryland, drove through Pennsylvania and Ohio and stopped overnight in Cleveland. We drove to Grand Rapids, MI the 22nd and stayed overnight there. On the 23rd we continued north and arrived in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and stayed there for a few days. On the 26th, we drove even farther north, into Ontario and stopped for the night in North Bay. On the 27th, we drove south, but still in Ontario toward Toronto, and stopped briefly in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Then we drove across the bridge back to the United States to Niagara Falls, NY and spent several hours at the US falls. That night we drove to Buffalo--about a 15-20 minute drive south of Niagara Falls--and stayed overnight there. On the 28th we continued through New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland until we arrived home safely around 5:30 pm. That is why I call it a circle trip. Here are the links to the photos from our different legs of the trip. Enjoy!

Shawn's job
Shawn is an ice-cream chef at a local ice-cream factory, Giffords. (local to the DC area, that is--he is in Silver Spring, MD) They make ice-cream using all natural ingredients and sell to restaurants and the Nationals Stadium. They also make sorbet. Shawn likes it because he only has to make ice-cream and deal with co-workers. He doesn't have to deal with the public at all. I would like that, too. People can be a pain. They do have some ice-cream stores where they sell right to the public, but Shawn doesn't have to do that.
Another reason I love Netflix
We're getting ready to go on vacation. As I sat at the computer, I wondered whether Netflix would allow me to put movies on hold while we were on vacation. The answer is "yes." I don't know why I didn't check into that before. We're having the mail held, so the movies would have been safe at the Post Office, but this way, it's one less thing for them to hold and I can't watch them until I get back anyway. Then I will have the long Labor Day weekend to watch movies!
And speaking of Netflix, today I watched "Benny and Joon." I still love it. Hadn't seen that movie for years--probably since we lived in Glenn Forest. Early 90's.

Good Book
I just finished reading "Mount Vernon Love Story" by Mary Higgins Clark. It is a biography/love story of George and Martha Washington. I loved it. Give it a try.
